Responsibilities
- Provide input and guidance on the pricing potential for pipeline and on-market assets by translating asset value into optimal pricing and contracting guidance, and developing appropriate sustainable access models where needed.
- Coordinate and ensure appropriate review and approval of pricing business cases across their Therapeutic Area, including preparation for review by the International or Executive Pricing Council, in line with global pricing governance.
- Support business development by undertaking rapid, confidential assessments of International markets' price potential using the best available data to identify risks and opportunities, informing long-term revenue analysis and overall asset valuation for external acquisitions.
- Lead the implementation, monitoring, and management of the global pricing governance process while ensuring fully compliant practices, policies, and procedures regarding pricing data handling and reporting.
- Ensure timely development of pricing guidance and drive strategic pricing input into financial processes (LRP, Plan), including reviews of strategic pricing assumptions with areas and affiliates, alongside clear analytics and causality for International price variances across the portfolio.
- Support the Pricing Systems Lead in running International Reference Price and cross-country/region impact analyses to inform LRP, Plan, and business cases, and in undertaking and interpreting launch sequence optimization analysis and scenario planning.
- Ensure effective and timely rollout, including communication and training of pricing guidance as part of the Integrated Access Strategy.
- Serve as an internal Subject Matter Expert on strategic and operational pricing and analytics, providing training to the organization on pricing or analytical approaches as needed.
- Develop a high-performing team with strategic and operational responsibilities within the International Pricing organization through recruitment, development, and retention of key talent. Provide regular performance feedback, development planning, and coaching to direct reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and organizational leaders across iMAP, Asset Leadership, IMCO, PCS, Affiliate and Area Market Access, and Finance.
- Monitor project progress, facilitate prioritization of team activities, manage workload, and ensure appropriate resource allocation to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.
- Engage regularly with senior leadership including the SVP INTL and the CCO.
Requirements
- Prior line management, coaching, and development experience.
- MSc or MPhil (required) or PhD (preferred) in Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Health Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or any other related quantitative field.
- Proven track record and significant experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, with an understanding of pricing, access, health economics, and market access, as well as the commercialization process (at least 10 years of relevant experience).
- Demonstrated appropriate level of leadership, requiring high levels of competence, confidence, and credibility.
- Experience interacting with P&R agencies and knowledge of top key markets' healthcare systems and/or pricing regulations (EU5, Canada, Japan, US) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Health Technology Appraisal and the fundamentals of Health Economics utilized in determining the value of medicines from a payer viewpoint.
- Ability to understand data management and reporting with a basic awareness of the possible technology platforms and solutions that can be leveraged.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in designing or implementing global pricing strategies and scenario assessments.
- Experience in designing and implementing integrated market access strategies and payer value propositions.
- Ability to communicate value drivers supporting pricing initiatives and their impact on business; ability to communicate the financial impact of pricing initiatives on overall business objectives.
- Ability to synthesize, critically analyze, efficiently communicate large volumes of information, develop and identify risks, recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to consistently provide clear and concise written and verbal communication, and excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to manage workload to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions without a full data set or with ambiguity and uncertainty.

Pay
The compensation range described is the range of possible base pay that AbbVie believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and AbbVie may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
