About the role
The Director of Internal Communications leads the strategic planning, development, and project management for all organization-wide internal communication programs to support Seattle Children's mission, vision, and system goals. Acting as a strategic counselor and thought leader, this role ensures internal communications are deeply aligned with business operations and organizational culture while partnering with People & Culture to ensure that workforce strategy, culture, and engagement are not only communicated but activated.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the workplace communication strategy, including the technical architecture, development, and content for the CHILD intranet and next-generation engagement technologies.
- Drive data-driven workforce engagement by utilizing external benchmarks, pulse surveys, and sentiment analysis to continuously optimize strategies for a diverse, distributed, and frontline and administrative workforce.
- Develop and manage comprehensive communication strategies, associated plans, projects, and budgets, while providing leadership for high-stakes initiatives such as crisis communications, major facility enhancements, and system-wide leadership meetings.
Requirements
- Required Education And Experience: Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, public relations, organizational psychology or related field, OR and equivalent combination of education and proven industry experience. Minimum ten years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or public relations. Minimum five years in a management role.
- Preferred: Previous communication leadership experience within a complex healthcare, academic or highly regulated environment. Experience developing communication strategies specifically designed for frontline, deskless and clinical workforce members.
Qualifications
- Compensation Range: $157,290.00 - $235,936.00 per year
- Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
