Director, Integration Initiatives

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Integration, the Director leads large-scale organizational integration and strategic priorities within the Integration Management Office (IMO), ensuring BILH realizes its vision to create a transformative health system.

About the role

Serving as a trusted advisor to executive and operational leaders, the Director provides project leadership, analytical expertise, and implementation support for large-scale cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders, domains, and sites of care. Examples of such domains include cancer, primary care, behavioral health, population health management, lab, pharmacy, supply chain, and human resources.

The Director collaborates with system "clients", including BILH and local executives, to define the vision for each initiative and the definition of success. They design and organize the various workstreams and inter-dependencies and are responsible for developing a comprehensive workplan and performance measurement plan. The role involves establishing and leading project governance structures, monitoring progress, identifying and mitigating risks, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and supporting change management activities to achieve integration and strategic objectives.

Depending on the scope and complexity of the initiative, the Director will serve as, or oversee the effort of, a project manager overseeing cross-functional teams. In this role, the Director manages the activities of other team members, including IMO colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Understand and effectively communicate BILH's integration and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with executive sponsors, system service leaders, and local leadership teams to design and implement initiatives that support system-wide strategic, operational, clinical, and financial objectives.
• Design, lead, and manage complex integration and strategic initiatives requiring broad organizational support and cross-functional collaboration across multiple stakeholders, departments, and sites of care.
• Lead clients through root cause analysis to diagnose problems, identify opportunities, and generate/evaluate potential solutions against clearly established criteria.
• Establish project governance structures, meeting cadences, reporting processes, and decision-making frameworks to support successful execution.
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource requirements, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and achievement of project milestones.
• Effectively prioritize projects to complete work within established guidelines and timeframes.
• Maintain consistency and quality in project management practices across assigned initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and established methodologies.
• Facilitate communication among project sponsors, executives, and operational leaders to ensure organizational alignment, transparency, and effective decision-making; proactively communicate risks, issues, and opportunities.
• Develop and deliver executive-level presentations, analyses, recommendations, and status reports to system leadership, project sponsors, and governance committees regarding initiative risks, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
• Manage, coach, and develop Project Managers and other assigned team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on accountability, flexibility, innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, public health, or related fields required. Master's degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of related work experience in healthcare management, project management, operations, or consulting in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience developing trusted relationships with executive and operational leaders and leading through influence within highly matrixed organizations.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working in a large, complex healthcare organization required.
• Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate, synthesize, interpret, and present complex quantitative and operational data to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and foster collaboration and partnership across organizational boundaries.
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies, issue resolution, risk management, performance reporting, and organizational change management principles.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and drive successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and other web-based applications, including Smartsheets.
• May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.

Pay

Annual base salary range: $140,000.00 USD - $175,000.00 USD. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, and job responsibilities.
