Responsibilities
- Manage, plan, organize, coordinate, implement and monitor the Infection Prevention and Control Program for Catholic Health (CH).
- Provide matrix oversight responsibility for all ministries' Infection Prevention and Control Programs.
- Determine staffing priorities and ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control Standards set by external agencies like the CDC, CMS, DOH, The Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.
- Create and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff through infection prevention and risk reduction strategies.
- Lead cross-organizational teams to improve infection prevention outcomes.
- Plan and present group programs on infection prevention and control.
- Lead and facilitate others to achieve results in infection prevention and control initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's Degree, MSN, MPH, PT, OT, RT, RD, or Clinical Science.
- Current Professional License by the State of New York, applicable by degree.
- Current Certification in Infection Control or eligibility for certification.
- Three (3) years of Infection Control experience in an acute care setting.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience.
- Three (3) years of Management experience.
- Emergency Preparedness experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with various members of the organization.
- Ability to lead, challenge, motivate, and facilitate others to achieve results.
- Understanding of statistics, population health, and regulatory agencies.
- Experience in planning and presenting group programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Strong managerial skills to effectively manage an Infection Control team.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
Working Conditions
- Flexible schedule and ability to travel to multiple CH sites.
- Occasional exposure to mildly unpleasant physical conditions.
- Intermittent exposure to a few unpleasant physical conditions.
- Frequent exposure to many disagreeable physical conditions.
- Continuous exposure to extremely disagreeable physical conditions.
