Director Infection Prevention

About the role

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is a fully accredited hospital committed to providing quality healthcare in Tomball, Magnolia, and Northwest Houston. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a variety of services including a Level III Trauma Center, advanced robotic surgery, and a comprehensive Women's Services unit with a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements all aspects of the infection control plan using CDC, TJC, WHO & OSHA guidelines.
• Supports directors and managers in complying with regulatory and accrediting standards related to infection control practices.
• Provides resources and evaluation in achieving infection control goals and meeting all CMS/TJC regulations for Infection Control.
• Leads teams in epidemiological studies, failure mode and effect analysis, and performance improvement projects related to infection control.
• Uses knowledge of microbiology to support proper management of infectious organisms and surveillance systems.
• Supervises Infection Preventionists.

Requirements

• CIC Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN License required.
• Masters Degree required.
• Bachelors Degree required.
• Two years of management or previous supervisory experience required.
• Three to five years of Infection prevention and control experience required.

Skills

Knowledge of microbiology, ability to manage infectious organisms, and proficiency in surveillance systems are essential skills for this role.
