Join a dynamic precision medicine neuroscience team at AbbVie, a leader in the development of innovative, impactful treatments for patients suffering from a variety of neurological and psychiatric disorders. This specific role will have a focus on neurodegenerative disorders.
Purpose
Lead the design and implementation of precision medicine strategies to help accelerate the advancement of AbbVie's neuroscience pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative precision medicine strategies for projects ranging from late-stage drug discovery (i.e., for first-in-human) through Ph3 clinical trials and beyond
- Obtain understanding and knowledge of various precision medicine approaches including fluid biomarkers, digital approaches, functional brain measures and imaging techniques that are relevant for neuroscience
- Be a recognized expert for precision medicine on cross functional teams (i.e., clinical development, discovery, regulatory, operations) to allow for influence and impact
- Willingness to be an outstanding team player on cross functional teams but when needed have the confidence and ability to scientifically defend and push for relevant precision medicine approaches
- Up-to-date knowledge for relevant biology and technology associated with projects
- Effectively communicating scientific/technical information to a variety of audiences including upper management
- As needed, establishment of relationships with external vendors and KOLs to help support precision medicine activities
Qualifications
- PhD in a science related field with typically 10+ years of relative work experience. Ideally, education and work experience have been in the area of neuroscience.
- Preferred candidates have experience working in research and development in pharma and/or biotech focusing on neuroscience.
- Proven ability to be agile with regards to projects and willingness to learn.
- Extensive experience working on cross functional teams and the ability to successfully influence in that environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience communication scientific information to broad audiences including senior management.
