Director I, Pre-Access

The Director I, Pre-Access is responsible for leading a functional Pre-Access team across multiple markets. They set performance and effectiveness expectations in line with industry best practices and drive accountability through responsibility of team production and quality measures. The director establishes, monitors, and meets key performance indicators aligning to industry best practices for their functional area. The director also partners with non-centralized areas who perform their own pre-access functions to ensure education, training, and adherence to standardized processes. As a subject matter expert, this person provides leadership and contributes to the overall revenue cycle goals, meeting the mission and organizational goals of Ensemble Health Partners, as well as regulatory compliance requirements. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Establishes department strategy, direction, and breakdown of department assignments by leader.
- Leads pre-access managers who lead their functions across the pre-access teams, focusing on standardization, consistency, and best practices.
- Partners with other revenue cycle and facility leaders within their scope to ensure upstream/downstream impacts of workflow, and to establish positive relationships while fostering open two-way communication.
- Serves as the pre-access service line contact to internal business partners (IP/OP/Surg).
- Coaches and develops department managers and assists in use of reporting and analytics to find trends, develop action plans, and implement process improvement.
- Leads managers through denial reviews to find gaps in workflow and processes and implements strategy to mitigate.
- Audits accounts and reviews denials to ensure effectiveness of workflow processes in place and collaborates with upstream/downstream impacts to improve process based on findings.
- Ensures adherence to the departmental budget and prepares monthly reports as requested.
- Communicates departmental goals to the staff to optimize performance and meet budgetary goals while improving operations to increase customer satisfaction and meet financial goals of the organization.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare role.
- 3+ years of revenue cycle operations or Pre-Access experience.
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and the management of teams using AI to lean into process and technological improvements, including the exploration, experimentation, and application of AI.
- Work experience with Epic.
- Experience building reporting and analytics to monitor performance and drive process improvement.
- Pre-access operations experience and/or call center experience a plus.
- Experience with ownership of daily workflow management, developing leaders, creating processes, and setting department strategy.
- Financial and project management experience.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
- CRCR certification required within first 9 months of hire (Ensemble supported).
Schedule
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs dictate.
Pay
This position pays between $92,500 - $125,000 based on experience, and is eligible for annual incentives.
