About the role
Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources and Executive Director, the Director of Human Resources provides oversight and support to ensure the community meets all legal and company standards in all areas of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance, training, and support to the management team in carrying out supervisory duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in alignment with ECS core values.
- Recruits for job openings by coordinating the placement of internal and external postings and assisting with interviewing and candidate selection in support of the hiring manager as needed.
- Processes new hire offer letters and pre-employment screening to ensure only people meeting company DSS standards begin work.
- Responsible for new employee onboarding, including entry of employee records into the HRIS system.
- Processes employment status changes and coordinates with Support Services as necessary (payroll, benefit administration, IT).
- Processes workers compensation claims by gathering incident reports and witness statements, providing employees with claim forms, processing claims with the insurance company, and working with doctors, claims administrators, and supervisors to determine if modified duty is necessary and available. Records incidents on OSHA logs if necessary.
- Notifies the Benefit Administrator of any leave of absence.
- Assists, guides, and counsels management with performance management and termination processes, ensuring proper documentation, notification, and processing of all necessary forms.
- Attends or conducts corrective action sessions and exit interviews as warranted.
- Maintains employee files that meet legal and company guidelines, and maintains a roster with active employees, volunteers, and contractors.
- Implements human resources policies and procedures as directed by Support Services.
