Director, HR Business Partner
Responsibilities
Serve as a functional HR leader who helps shape HRBP priorities, operating rhythms, and service delivery expectations in collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence and business leaders.
Lead, coach, and calibrate a team of HR professionals by setting priorities, strengthening judgment, developing capability, and ensuring the team delivers consistent, high-quality counsel, insight, and decision support across assigned areas of responsibility.
Partner with executive and senior leaders to assess organizational goals, business strategy, and workforce challenges; determine which people-related priorities require focused action; and align HR activities, policies, and strategies to help the business deliver for patients, teammates, physicians, and other stakeholders.
Establish and govern the strategic interface between HR Centers of Excellence and business units to ensure effective, coordinated delivery of end-to-end HR support, including talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, total rewards, inclusion and belonging, organizational effectiveness, engagement, retention, HR operations, communications, and change management.
Anticipate people-related opportunities and risks that could significantly impact business performance, exercise sound judgment to determine the right path forward, and guide leaders and HR partners in implementing solutions that improve competitiveness and organizational effectiveness.
Translate data, business context, and organizational insights into clear narratives that help leaders see patterns, understand tradeoffs, and make informed decisions.
Communicate and facilitate effectively across all levels of the organization, including both large and small audiences.
Advise, guide, and coach leaders and teammates on organizational issues and workforce challenges, helping them retain, develop, and motivate teammates while building stronger teams and leadership capability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, complex, high-volume, customer-focused environment
- Preferred qualifications include experience supporting healthcare, multi-site operations, or a geographically dispersed workforce; experience partnering with senior operators in a matrixed environment; and HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR
- 5+ years of experience leading an HR function in a regional, divisional, or matrixed organization
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing highly performing teams
- BA/BS in Human Resources Management or related field
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels of the enterprise
- Strong influencing, consulting, and coaching skills
- Proven track record of crafting and executing data driven strategies to achieve business results
- Able to operate across the full HR spectrum, including strategic, operational, and tactical work
- A service-first, solution-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Demonstrated history of leading change and influencing behavioral and mindset shifts among business leaders and key stakeholders
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including small and large group facilitation
- Successful track record of driving diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy through all aspects of work
- Demonstrated ability to operate ethically in all situations and handle highly sensitive matters effectively and with discretion
- Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize initiatives while navigating ambiguity
- High degree of business acumen and data literacy
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; experience using HR systems such as UKG Pro, Workday, or ADP
