The role

Solventum is a healthcare company focused on improving lives through innovative solutions. This role is within the HIS Government and Regulatory Affairs team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee state initiatives to secure adoption and use of advanced proprietary payment models, value-based and pay-for-performance models, patient safety and quality outcomes models with state Medicaid agencies, state employee/retirement programs, and state health departments.
  • Manage indirect revenue growth and implementation success, solution performance, and market expansion with state Medicaid agencies.
  • Ensure payment, outcomes, and quality methodologies are adopted in a manner consistent with HIS goals and client requirements.
  • Oversee downstream disruptive regulatory event commercialization and maintain business relationships with state vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate state-based consultants and state lobbyists with corporate government affairs.
  • Expand relationship opportunities at the state and federal level with government and elected officials as well as health care community policy leaders, including coalition outreach and building efforts.
  • Determine high-potential federal government opportunities and target specific proprietary products (CMS/HHS and Congress), including active pursuit of groups with which HIS has historically not engaged, including some areas of CMS.
  • Provide direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training, and development, allocating work assignments, reviewing progress in achieving objectives, managing employee compensation, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc.
  • Understand and enforce corporate/location policies and procedures. Take appropriate action to address policy violations. Manage workforce vendors and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in designing and executing strategic plans related to government health departments/agencies or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience at engaging high-level decision-makers within government and/or payer organizations.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with state or federal agencies underlying American health care financing including but limited to the Affordable Care Act, state and federal laws governing Medicaid programs, federal law governing CMS prospective payment, and value-based payment systems.
  • Masters Degree in business, policy, public health, PhD in Public Policy or related field is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of government health department/agencies operations and regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of value-based payment systems and patient safety initiatives.

$211,600 - $290,950
