Director, Higher Education Initiatives
About the Role
As Director, Higher Education Initiatives, you will manage the ongoing creation of higher education (HE)-facing content and lead key projects and initiatives that are highly content-driven and external-facing. You will partner with unit leadership and field teams to ensure information, resources, and data for Higher Ed Enrollment and Financial Aid members are relevant, clear, actionable, and aligned with College Board's programs and services. This is a full-time, remote role with the option for hybrid work (Tuesday and Wednesday in office) for candidates near College Board offices. Travel is required 8–12 times a year for in-person meetings.
Responsibilities
- External-Facing Content, Messaging & Resource Development (50%):
- Create, author, and integrate resources for Higher Ed members, including presentations, guides, reports, and briefs.
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to ensure organizational messaging is effectively incorporated into HE-facing outreach.
- Manage key resources such as the monthly Enrollment Brief newsletter, HE email strategic plan, and HE-facing web content.
- Develop and integrate AP value messaging and case studies into campaigns supporting institutional acceptance and use.
- Support messaging and outreach for MyinTuition adoption and affordability initiatives.
- Project & Initiative Management (30%):
- Manage unit-wide projects, including STARS/Rural Access initiatives and AP fly-in planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Ensure HE-facing and unit projects are well-defined, planned, tracked, and delivered in partnership with HE leadership.
- Internal Content, Process & Cross-Functional Coordination (20%):
- Master internal processes for materials development and review across the unit, collaborating with communications, marketing, legal, finance, and research teams.
- Support quarterly and annual reporting with outcome- and impact-focused framing.
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline outreach across the Higher Ed portfolio.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience managing content and communication-focused projects in Higher Ed, including content creation in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, including authoring, editing, and proofreading various document types.
- Experience developing messaging and outreach across multiple programs and adapting brand voice for professional audiences.
- Deep understanding of content delivery best practices for professional audiences, leveraging market insights and data.
- Proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., PowerPoint) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
- Demonstrated project ownership from ideation to delivery, with expertise in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Excel, MS Project).
- Strong initiative, accountability, and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Experience creating action-oriented content for admission/enrollment and financial aid audiences.
- Bachelor's degree required.

Pay
The hiring range for this role is $80,000 - $130,000. Salary depends on location, experience, and alignment with market data.
