Director – Hedge Fund Accounting (Fund Administration)

About the role

This position will support a diverse portfolio of hedge fund clients by overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, investor activity, and key operational processes. You will lead client relationships, drive process improvements, mentor junior team members, and ensure accurate, timely delivery of all client and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support a portfolio of hedge fund and private equity clients, ensuring accurate fund accounting, financial reporting, and investor allocations.
  • Review key financial activities, including journal entries, management fees, capital calls and distributions, reconciliations, and waterfall calculations.
  • Manage client deliverables, investor communications, audits, and tax-related requests while ensuring compliance with partnership agreements and deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and respond to ongoing client and ad hoc requests.
  • Lead client onboardings, mentor junior team members, and help drive high-quality service delivery across the team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive hedge fund accounting experience, ideally including hedge fund administration or public accounting with an alternative assets focus.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with deep proficiency in accounting and fund administration.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams while delivering excellent client service and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, attention to detail, and professional communication under tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Advent Geneva, Outlook, Excel, and Word to drive efficiency and precision.

Pay

$107,000 - $180,000, dependent on experience and location.
