Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and executes short and long-term strategic, business, and operational plans for the Correctional Health Program.
- Serves as health services administrator overseeing Correctional Health operations, managing operational, human resource, and financial aspects.
- Ensures quality, cost-effective, and efficient workflows and processes, aiming for a positive patient experience.
- Oversees the implementation, sustainment, and financial viability of current and new initiatives impacting departmental growth and development.
- Serves with the Medical Director to oversee services, personnel, and contract personnel delivering health care to the inmate population.
- Ensures compliance with National Commission for Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) and State of Ohio standards.
- Collaborates with clinical and support staff to identify opportunities for new or revised programs ensuring access, performance improvement, and workforce development.
- Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.
Qualifications
- Masters in business, health, or public administration and 7 years of management experience in healthcare or healthcare consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in healthcare or healthcare consulting.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with multi-disciplinary groups.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self-development.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical aptitude.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Correctional Health Care.
- National Commission on Correctional Health Care Certification.
- Leverage of Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
Physical Requirements
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
- May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
- Ability to use computer.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to read job-related documents.
