About the role

The Director, Head of HVS (High Value Sender) Marketing will own the end-to-end global marketing strategy for Remitly's most strategic and complex customer segment. Reporting to the GM of High Value Senders, this role involves shaping the direction, building alongside the team, and driving product-market fit in this premium space.

Responsibilities

  • Define and Lead Strategy: Author the comprehensive segmentation, messaging architecture, and positioning that governs all brand and growth choices for the HVS segment.
  • Drive Executional Excellence: Own the channel mix and GTM strategy, moving beyond traditional ads to meet customers in high-trust environments like professional forums and community networks.
  • Influence Product Direction: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to ensure the marketing narrative is backed by product reality, pushing for features that meet the unique needs of premium senders.
  • Operate AI-Natively: Implement and evangelize the use of agentic toolchains and LLMs to accelerate research, analysis, and creative iteration across the marketing organization.
  • Build the Foundation: Establish planning rhythms and measurement frameworks, tracking high-impact KPIs such as LTV, share of wallet, and retention against traditional banking incumbents.
  • Champion Culture: Exemplify Remitly's Cultural Values, serving as a role model and mentor to marketers and peers across the organization.

Requirements

  • Experience: 12+ years of marketing experience, with a proven track record of leading high-impact projects for financially sophisticated or premium consumer segments.
  • Strategic Ownership: Demonstrated ability to define the strategic direction for a significant business area that impacts overall company direction and industry standards.
  • Complexity & Ambiguity: Expert skills in bringing clarity to highly complex initiatives where the problem space or strategy may not yet be defined.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multi-quarter plans independently with minimal executive oversight.
  • Influence: Advanced expertise in driving cross-functional architecture and marketing strategies without direct authority.
  • Technical Literacy: Fluency in leveraging data-driven insights and AI tools to inform strategy and measure success at scale.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading successful marketing campaigns for high-value or premium customer segments.
  • Experience in defining and executing marketing strategies for complex, high-stakes customer segments.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, including but not limited to social media, email, content marketing, and SEO.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and sales.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure and optimize marketing performance.
  • Product Marketing: Ability to align marketing efforts with product development and ensure alignment between marketing and product goals.
  • AI and Automation: Experience with implementing and managing AI-powered tools and automation to enhance marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve common goals.

Pay

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $184,000-$230,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Schedule

This is a hybrid role requiring 3+ days working out of our Seattle, WA headquarters.
