About the role

The Role We are seeking a Director, within the Global Technical Controllership in McKesson’s Corporate segment. This leadership position oversees statutory financial reporting, legal entity accounting including complex intercompany transactions and cross-border legal entity activity, and governance activities for McKesson’s international legal entities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and approval of statutory financial statements for McKesson's international legal entities.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee audit execution, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors in local jurisdictions and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and drive continuous improvement of reporting and audit processes.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of legal entity accounting activities, including balance sheet reviews, intercompany transactions, dividends, capital contributions, investments, debt structures, and restructuring transactions (step plans).
  • Ensure legal entity financial information accurately reflects business activity and complies with applicable accounting standards.
  • Support legal entity governance and capital structure initiatives.
  • Lead the preparation of Board materials, financial updates, solvency assessments, and supporting analyses.
  • Present financial results, significant transactions, audit outcomes, solvency assessments, and emerging risks to Boards of Directors and legal entity governance committees.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison for Board-related financial reporting and governance matters.
  • Cook up Board and key stakeholder approvals of statutory financial statements and governance activities.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of statutory reporting processes.
  • Support implementation of scalable global reporting and governance processes.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning and leadership development.

Requirements

  • 12 years of progressive accounting, finance or audit experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and developing talent.
  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
  • Experience in working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Skills

  • Strong technical accounting expertise with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of intercompany accounting, transfer pricing related activities, legal entity transaction flows, and the impact of cross-border activity on statutory reporting, audits, and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and process transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to identify and implement AI-enabled process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, documentation quality, and control effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leaders and drive alignment across a matrix organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive-level presentations and technical accounting documentation.
