Director — Global Supply Chain End-to-End Process Capabilities

About Technical Operations

BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and scaling production for the commercial market. This team of engineers, technicians, scientists, and support staff builds and maintains cutting-edge manufacturing processes, ensures quality assurance and regulatory compliance, procures goods and services, and coordinates the global distribution of our therapies to patients.

Responsibilities

• Process Design & Governance
  • Partner with the Global Supply Chain Leadership team to develop and maintain end-to-end process standards across Planning, Distribution, Launches, Variations, Value Chain, and Clinical Supply Chain to drive consistency, scalability, and alignment with corporate standards.
  • Manage process changes through defined approval gates and compliance checks, aligned with global design principles and GxP/regulatory requirements.
  • Build and sustain frameworks, documentation, and governance routines to ensure processes remain auditable, transparent, and audit-ready.
  • Serve as the global process authority for end-to-end supply chain processes, with accountability for decision governance, prioritization, and escalation across functions and regions.
• Transformation & Optimization
  • Lead end-to-end supply chain process redesign initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and agility.
  • Collaborate with Digital and Analytics teams to integrate advanced technologies and data-driven solutions into core processes.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement structured improvement plans to deliver measurable business impact.
• Adoption & Capability Building
  • Drive implementation of new processes, ensuring seamless integration across all supply chain functions.
  • Design and deliver capability-building programs, including training and change management strategies, to foster adoption.
  • Monitor adherence and performance, using insights to refine processes and sustain long-term improvements.
• Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team, including direct and dotted-line reports, responsible for process excellence, governance, capability building, and continuous improvement.
  • Align process strategies with broader business objectives by collaborating with Manufacturing, Clinical, QA, Commercial, and Finance teams.
  • Serve as a process owner and escalation point for critical issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Represent Supply Chain Excellence in senior leadership forums, steering committees, and governance bodies to drive alignment, investment decisions, and adoption.
• Performance & Reporting
  • Deliver measurable improvements in supply reliability, inventory efficiency, launch execution, compliance readiness, and end-to-end planning effectiveness.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to measure process performance and maturity across the organization.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify improvement opportunities and benchmark against industry best practices.

Requirements

• Experience leading enterprise transformation or global process ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of experience with global supply chain processes.
• Knowledge of S&OP/IBP, planning, logistics, and Product Management.
• Demonstrated success driving cross-functional transformation.
• Strong governance, influence, and stakeholder management skills across a global, matrixed organization.
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or another recognized Operational Excellence methodology is highly desirable.
