Responsibilities
- Creates, evangelizes and drives a multi-year, multi-team operational vision for initiatives and large development teams
- PARTNERS WITH PRODUCT MANAGEMENT TO MANAGE THE PORTFOLIO OF STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEIR AREA, RE-ALLOCATING RESOURCES AND SHIFTING ORGANIZATIONAL PRIORITIES TO MAXIMIZE STRATEGIC VALUE OF PLANS
- PARTNERS WITH CROSS-DISCIPLINE LEADERSHIP TO DEFINE EXPECTED OUTCOMES FOR FULL PRODUCT OR LARGE ORGANIZATION INITIATIVES
- Leverages structured frameworks to ensure consistent communication, decision making, and prioritization around planned initiatives
- BUILDS REACTION / MAINTENANCE PLANS FOR LIVE / LAUNCHED INITIATIVE OUTCOMES AND OWNS DECISION MAKING FOR THOSE PLANS
- DIRECTS PLANNING, ESTIMATION AND EXECUTION OF DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES ACROSS A LARGE ORGANIZATION OR BUSINESS UNIT
- OVERSEES THE DELIVERY OF GLOBAL SOFTWARE PROJECTS UTILIZING BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTED DEVELOPMENT TEAMS
- SURENSHIPS THAT INITIATIVES UNDER THEIR WATCH CAN BE TESTED EARLY AND ITERATED ON PRIOR TO FINAL RELEASE IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE VALUE AND MINIMIZE WASTED EFFORT
- ACTIVELY ADVANCES RIOT'S UNDERSTANDING OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, BUILDING SUSTAINABILITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INTO PRODUCTS AND ORGS
- CREATES ALIGNMENT BETWEEN THEIR AREA, STAKEHOLDERS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TOWARDS BOTH COMMON AND DIVERGENT GOALS
- BUILDS AND MAINTAINS A POSITIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR TEAMS THAT PROMOTES A SUSTAINABLE WORK-LIFE BALANCE, COLLABORATION AND HEALTHY CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in software/game development
- 6+ years in a production leadership position on a live service game
- 5+ years direct people management experience, including experience managing people managers
- 2+ years experience leading teams through metagame feature development (planning, execution, delivery, post-release support)
