Director, Full-Stack Engineering Manager
About the role
This role is located in New York and involves making an impact by consulting with internal business groups, developing code, providing technical consulting, mentoring junior engineers, and leading the integration of AI capabilities into core workflows.
Responsibilities
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and engage in learning and applying emerging technologies and security principles.
- Provide comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staff, including evaluating compliance with technology standards.
- Develop well-designed, testable, efficient code for both frontend and backend systems, including programming, testing, and automation.
- Lead the technical aspects of embedding AI capabilities into core workflows, strengthening platform performance, stability, and scalability.
- Ensure the Middle Office platform remains fit for future growth while protecting client delivery and accelerating adoption of AI-driven efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 10-14 years of experience in software development; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Expertise in frontend and backend development coding languages such as C#, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in application frameworks, containerization, relational databases, architecture design principles, and security principles.
- Prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and consulting experience with structured methodologies.
Qualifications
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Expertise in frontend and backend development coding languages such as C#, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in application frameworks, containerization, relational databases, architecture design principles, and security principles.
- Prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and consulting experience with structured methodologies.

Pay
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $147,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
Schedule
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
