Director – Front Office Risk Manager, Fixed Income
About the role
The Trading Risk and Resources Strategy team (T2RS) within the Global Markets division of Corporate and Institutional Banking oversees market, counterparty, and funding risks, as well as financial resource management. T2RS works closely with trading teams across asset classes to align risk appetites with revenue objectives. Responsibilities include oversight of positions in fixed-income markets, stress testing, scenario analysis, and advising senior management on market risks.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of positions managed in the Americas fixed income markets: Agency mortgages, inflation, rates options, swaps, bonds, and financing.
- Detailed understanding of risk sensitivities and their deformation under large market movements.
- Define and run stress tests and scenarios as needed in the current market environment.
- Perform in-depth reviews to ensure no risk areas are overlooked.
- Contribute to improving the risk framework by identifying gaps and supporting necessary system developments.
- Advise senior Global Markets management on main market risks and risk appetite based on revenue objectives.
- The ideal candidate should have experience managing market risk and engaging with heads of desks, senior Global Markets management, and the Risk department.
- The position offers broad exposure to different markets and strategic involvement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing risk in U.S. fixed-income markets.
- In-depth expertise of agency Mortgages.
- Familiarity with inflation-linked products and rates options (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years' experience as a trader in US Fixed income markets, or as a risk manager in the risk department of a major financial institution, covering US Fixed income risks.
Certifications and Licenses
- CFTC Swap Dealer Associated Person (if yes, NFA Swaps Proficiency Program is required):
