Director Free Standing Emergency Department

About the role

A Director of Freestanding Emergency Services opportunity is available in Charleston, SC, with a two-hospital system that currently operates four freestanding emergency departments, with additional sites under development.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the ACNO and supports two hospital executive teams, holding operational and strategic accountability for a network of freestanding emergency departments with three managers across sites.
• Enforces clinical standards of emergency care and develops processes to ensure consistent compliance.
• Oversees a performance improvement program that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
• Provides ancillary oversight for imaging, lab (point-of-care model with nurses performing lab testing), admitting, security, environmental services, and support services.
• Advances employee engagement and patient experience initiatives.
• Participates in patient and employee rounding.
• Identifies and mentors emerging leaders within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in emergency services required
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role required
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice, in accordance with law and regulation required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Pay

$109,449 - $145,000 per year plus Incentive Bonus of Up To 17.5%; Relocation: Case by Case Basis
