Opportunity
Vouched is seeking a dedicated fraud investigator to bring investigative tradecraft into the software industry. This role involves investigating fraud at scale, conducting deep-dive investigations, and translating findings into actionable intelligence for the product and engineering teams.
What You Will Do
- Investigate fraud at scale by reviewing and triaging rejected and flagged identity verifications.
- Build and document cases to a standard that holds up under scrutiny, uncovering emerging threats and identifying new fraud techniques.
- Partner with law enforcement and prosecutors to package evidence and coordinate with relevant parties.
- Translate real investigations into clear, vivid stories and structured findings for product and engineering teams.
- Help Vouched stay ahead of fraudsters by turning intelligence into new detection signals, models, and features.
Requirements
- A substantial career in law enforcement, government intelligence, or professional investigations.
- Demonstrated investigative skill, including the ability to distinguish between noise and a real threat.
- A working understanding of cybersecurity and digital fraud concepts.
- Experience coordinating with prosecutors or the broader legal and regulatory system.
- A self-starter who thrives in an ambiguous environment and is energized by challenges.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with identity fraud, financial crime, document fraud, or cybercrime.
- Familiarity with synthetic identity fraud, deepfakes, or AI-driven attacks.
- Exposure to the software, fintech, or healthcare industries.
- Comfort working with data and modern software tools, or eagerness to learn quickly.
About the Role
This is a builder's seat where you will write the playbook for fraud investigation in the software industry. Your findings directly shape the product, and you will work closely with product and engineering teams to improve detection signals and features.
