Director for Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness
About the role
The Director for Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness functions as the primary point of contact for campus on matters related to institutional accreditation by SACSCOC. The Director has primary responsibility for ensuring and documenting UGA's compliance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Duties/Responsibilities Accreditation Leadership and Compliance
- Serve as the primary campus resource for matters related to SACSCOC accreditation requirements, policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Lead university-wide planning, coordination, and documentation for reaffirmation, fifth-year interim review, annual reporting, and substantive change processes.
- Oversee institutional systems and processes that support ongoing compliance, including documentation of faculty and graduate student teaching credentials, academic program coordinator credentials, student achievement, and specialized accreditation activity, as applicable.
- Draft, review, and edit accreditation narratives, reports, and related institutional documentation.
- Monitor changes in accreditation requirements and emerging best practices and advise university leaders on implications for policy, process, and institutional planning.
- Cook with campus partners to develop and implement internal procedures that ensure sustained compliance with accreditation expectations.
- Duties/Responsibilities Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Review
- Provide leadership for institutional effectiveness processes that support continuous improvement and demonstrate compliance with accreditation expectations.
- Support and coordinate university-wide strategic planning processes, including implementation monitoring, progress reporting, and committee support.
- Provide institutional oversight and guidance for academic program review, support unit review, and administrator review processes.
- Work with academic and administrative units to ensure planning, assessment, and review activities are in line with institutional and accreditation priorities and expectations.
- Help synthesize findings from institutional effectiveness activities for executive audiences and institutional decision-making.
- Duties/Responsibilities Administrative Leadership, Campus Engagement, and Operations
- Supervise and support the work of the Associate Director for Accreditation and the Assistant Director for Institutional Effectiveness.
- Lead development and improvement of systems, tools, templates, and workflows that support accreditation and institutional effectiveness documentation and reporting.
- Build campus understanding of accreditation and institutional effectiveness expectations through consultation, guidance, training, and communication.
- Oversee the University Policy Library and provide administrative guidance for related tools and workflows in coordination with policy owners and subject matter experts.
- Represent accreditation and institutional effectiveness priorities on University and University System of Georgia committees, task forces, and working groups, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of professional experience to include 3 years in a leadership role.
