Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis

Oversee the financial accounting and reporting process for the Company’s financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting principles (SAP). File all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and federal and state insurance regulators (CMS, WVOIC, ODI, BMS). Manage internal processes and controls supporting the financial statement close process and all reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial statement close process from beginning to end.
• Prepare and review all monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reporting.
• Ensure timely filing and compliance with all statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage all internal controls surrounding the financial statement close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy by analyzing current data, assessing risk factors, and recognizing opportunities to increase effectiveness, optimize efficiency, implement standardization, and meet business needs.
• Manage and respond to requests from regulators, internal auditors, and external auditors.
• Assist with rate filings for each line of business.
• Assist with the preparation and management of the annual budget.
• Manage direct and indirect reports.
• Perform statutory accounting research as necessary.
• Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 10-15 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Skills

• Previous experience in the health insurance industry (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and Management Reporter (preferred).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
