Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, the Director of Financial Analysis will conduct advanced financial analysis, including modeling, forecasting, and reporting of various healthcare service lines that supports Central Health’s data-driven strategic plans. The Director will organize, analyze, and report on large datasets including claims, financial, actuarial, and enrollment data to develop annual budgets, key performance indicators, financial forecasts, and return-on-investment analyses. The director will also play a critical role in conducting economic evaluation and financial modeling to generate recommendations that support value-based care, cost optimization, facilities planning, capital investments, and strategic health care operations. This position will work within Central Health’s finance and strategy departments and collaborate with the operational, clinical, government relations, and communications departments, as well as the CEO’s office and Central Health System Partners, to ensure financial data processes adhere to best practices.

About the Role

The Director of Financial Analysis will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to guide strategic resource allocation, provide strategic financial support such as performing economic impact evaluation, forecasting, ROI analysis, and building robust financial models/scenarios to inform critical decisions by Central Health leadership. They will evaluate growth opportunities, such as new services lines, new channel development, state and federal funding opportunities, and business model changes; and advise executives on sustainability and trade-offs. They will assist in preparation of annual capital and operating budgets, monitor actual results as compared to budget, and propose budget revisions, as necessary. They will analyze the financial and statistical activities and performance of the Central Health System through developing and monitoring key performance metrics, including reporting to executive leadership as needed. They will assist leadership in capital expenditure processes, monitoring the timing and appropriateness of capital spending and updating financial forecasts. They will maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact health care finance and accounting (e.g., eligibility, Federally Qualified Health Center Prospective Payment System reimbursement, 340B, and Medicaid supplemental funding programs) and develop associated policy and reimbursement forecasting, economic models, and cost-benefit analyses. They will perform descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support value-based contracting, forecasting, utilization modeling, and cost-benefit analyses. They will collaborate with finance, analytics, strategy, operations, planning, and provider teams to provide insights for financial planning, revenue cycle, and payment integrity. They will support Central Health leadership at public events, conferences, and Central Health Board of Managers meetings as requested.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher degree) with a Concentration in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline

Preferred Experience

  • 7 years experience in a health care industry, with demonstrated ability to support business development
  • Relevant work experience in health care and finance that involves research and interpretation, analysis, and developing strategies supported by quantitative evidence and scenario modeling
  • 7 years Advanced MS Excel experience with expertise and knowledge of econometrics and other advanced statistical methods, data visualization and presentation best practices
  • 7 years experience with health care reimbursement models, population risk, and rate setting
