DIRECTOR, FINANCE - SOUTHEAST-MIDWEST - REMOTE
Location: Remote (East Coast hours required; hybrid option available in NYC/Rye Brook, NY)

About the role
As the Finance Director at Flik Independent School Dining, you will report to the VP of Finance and be responsible for financial planning, control, and business partnering in the Southeast and Midwest regions. You will support 100-125 accounts, lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and corporate reporting for the division. Collaborating with the Southeast/Midwest SVP, you will drive financial excellence across operations in these regions.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate and prepare financial reporting for corporate partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor business trends via weekly flash reporting and issue reports as required.
- Identify risks and opportunities within financial plans, making actionable recommendations.
- Develop financial projections and long-term financial strategies to align with organizational goals.
- Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy by collaborating across departments.
- Lead the development of the division's annual budget and rolling forecasts.
- Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including fiscal close and audit documentation.
- Provide oversight of critical financial procedures and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Act as a critical compliance partner for the Southeast & Midwest regions and provide mentorship and support to operators.
- Resolve accounting/reconciliation issues promptly and accurately.
- Analyze potential investment opportunities related to new business and the extension/retention of existing business.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis for investment decisions.
- Provide recommendations to senior leadership on capital allocation and resource optimization.
- Supervise the performance of ongoing investments, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on investment performance for customers.
- Act as the lead finance business partner for the Southeast and Midwest regions, collaborating closely with the Southeast/Midwest SVP.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and strategic insights to support regional growth and decision-making.
- Partner with operational leaders to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Develop tools and dashboards to track regional financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to improve profitability and efficiency within the Southeast and Midwest regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience. An MBA or CPA is an additional advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience supporting financials in the $100 million+ range.
- Industry experience in food service, retail, or similar sectors preferred.
- Experience as a business partner working with regional or operational leaders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel.
- Familiarity with POS systems and financial software tools. Familiarity with Anaplan or Hyperion a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present at all levels.
- Ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
Pay Range: $125,000 to $150,000
