Körber Pharma Packaging Materials LLC focuses on the development and production of secondary packaging materials for the pharmaceutical industry. The company belongs to the BU Körber Pharma Packaging Materials, where over 1,000 employees produce folding cartons, package inserts, and labels at six locations in Europe and the US. Packaging Materials is part of the unique Körber Pharma Ecosystem, providing machinery, materials, software, and consulting services to the Life Science industry.

About the role

The Director of Finance will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the financial, administration, purchasing, compliance, tax, and legal activities of the company, which has two locations: the main location in Camden, NJ, housing most of the company's functions, and a smaller production site in Apex, NC. The primary location for this role will be in Camden, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reporting, tax returns, and governmental reports, and oversee the monthly closing process.
  • Develop high-quality financial forecasts based on business projections and compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, making adjustments as needed.
  • Lead the financial planning process, recommend improvements to current methods, and define and maintain cost center and internal work order structures.
  • Analyze operations and customer margins to identify areas for improvements.
  • Support the purchasing function and lead strategic price negotiations with key suppliers.
  • Lead the department heads of Accounting, Controlling, HR, and work closely with other department leaders to monitor performance and make strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and President of Körber Pharma Materials LLC, the VP Finance of the BU in Europe, and executive leadership to coordinate strategic planning, forecasting, performance management, and priority setting, serving as a trusted sparring partner.
  • Evaluate business case opportunities for expansion into new product or regional areas and lead strategic initiatives such as software implementations and ERP enhancements.
  • Support Körber Group M&A function in M&A projects and lead post-merger integration projects.
  • Manage compliance and legal matters, cash flow, banking relationships, working capital optimization, tax management, and transfer pricing.
  • Analyze business case opportunities for expansion and Capex projects.
  • Review KPIs regularly and initiate actions to ensure agility and sustained business performance.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; a Master's degree in Finance, MBA, and/or CPA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic purchasing and negotiations with suppliers.
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing accounting experience; experience in the packaging industry is a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles.
  • Experience ensuring accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and IFRS/HGB.
  • Solid understanding of work-in-process (WIP) accounting.
  • Experience with job costing and/or project-based cost accounting.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with database systems and accounting software applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to support cross-cultural collaboration and promote transparent communication.
  • ERP system knowledge and hands-on experience; SAP experience is a strong plus.

Pay

Total compensation for this role is estimated to be $180k-230k at the time of posting.
