Director, Finance

The Director, Finance position is listed on behalf of a partner company managing all applications and next steps. This role is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to lead a finance function through a period of significant growth and transformation.

About the role

You will combine strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational execution to build scalable systems and processes. The position plays a key role in strengthening financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, and business decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to improve financial performance and support long-term growth.

Requirements

• An experienced finance leader with a strong background in accounting, financial strategy, and operational scaling.
• CPA designation required, with strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and financial practices.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance leadership position.
• Proven experience building, managing, and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls, and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to improve finance processes and implement technology-driven solutions.
• Experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or modern financial platforms to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working in fintech, payments, SaaS, or technology-driven environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting organizations through periods of rapid growth and operational scaling is an advantage.
