About the role

The Director of Facilities Operations oversees the Facilities Management Department and ensures the College and its departments have access to safe, attractive, and high-quality facilities and grounds. They provide support to the Senior Director, Facilities Management, and align with the College's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Senior Director in managing facilities and grounds operations.
  • Ensures the College provides safe, attractive, and high-quality facilities and grounds for the College Community.
  • Manages policies, plans, and procedures for the effective operation of the Facilities Management department.
  • Identifies and justifies capital project needs through data analysis.
  • Develops and implements energy conservation initiatives.
  • Led sustainability programs across campus and with other College units.
  • Provides technical assistance in areas like audits, standards, preventative maintenance, and space utilization.
  • Manages employee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Administers disciplinary actions and collaborates with Human Resources.
  • Manages the department budget in collaboration with Business Services.
  • Fosters a culture of respect and inclusion within the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Facilities Management, operations, skilled trades, landscape management, or a similar field.
  • A State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of facilities management best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

$100,756.56 annually
