About the role
The Director of Facilities Operations oversees the Facilities Management Department and ensures the College and its departments have access to safe, attractive, and high-quality facilities and grounds. They provide support to the Senior Director, Facilities Management, and align with the College's mission.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Senior Director in managing facilities and grounds operations.
- Ensures the College provides safe, attractive, and high-quality facilities and grounds for the College Community.
- Manages policies, plans, and procedures for the effective operation of the Facilities Management department.
- Identifies and justifies capital project needs through data analysis.
- Develops and implements energy conservation initiatives.
- Led sustainability programs across campus and with other College units.
- Provides technical assistance in areas like audits, standards, preventative maintenance, and space utilization.
- Manages employee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Administers disciplinary actions and collaborates with Human Resources.
- Manages the department budget in collaboration with Business Services.
- Fosters a culture of respect and inclusion within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Facilities Management, operations, skilled trades, landscape management, or a similar field.
- A State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or equivalent.
Qualifications
- An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of facilities management best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
