Core Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of the Company’s quarterly and annual external reporting package, ensuring financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A are complete, accurate, and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP accounting matters, including revenue recognition, business combinations, goodwill and intangible assets, leases, debt transactions, derivatives, and hedging, and pension & post-retirement plans.
- Research, analyze, and document technical accounting conclusions.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and related disclosure requirements.
- Provide accounting guidance for acquisitions, divestitures, financings, contracts, and other non-routine transactions.
- Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting and technical accounting.
- Present technical accounting matters, reporting updates, and key judgments to senior leadership and external auditors.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors on reporting, technical accounting, and disclosure matters.
- Coordinate audit requests and ensure timely resolution of reporting and accounting issues.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, external auditors, and senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Impeccable attention to detail and high emotional intelligence with the ability to engage in quality decision making and business partnership.
- Established project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience with consolidation and reporting systems (Oracle and Workiva are preferred).
- Experience preparing or reviewing external filing documents.
- Experience leading the research and documentation of complex technical accounting matters or other non-routine transactions.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, external auditors, legal, and cross-functional business partners.
- Ability for travel to support business initiatives as needed.
Education Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation/Advanced Degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of US GAAP accounting experience, including experience with a public accounting firm or public company industry experience; additional experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
