About the role

The Manhattan Institute seeks candidates for a position in its Policy Research Department. This role will contribute to the Institute's mission of improving urban life through research and advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research on urban policy issues, contributing to the development of policy recommendations.
  • Write reports, briefings, and articles for publication in City Journal and other media outlets.
  • Engage in public speaking engagements and media appearances to promote the Institute's research and policy positions.
  • Collaborate with other Institute staff and external partners on research projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Studies, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in urban policy research or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with quantitative analysis and data-driven research methods.
  • Knowledge of urban policy issues and trends.
  • Interest in public policy and urban affairs.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
