Join a growing executive recruitment organization as Director of Executive Search, a pivotal leadership role driving executive-level hiring opportunities across Royal Bank of Canada. You will be accountable for leading enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy while spearheading executive search assignments that shape RBC's executive pipeline. This role bridges internal stakeholder alignment with external market expertise, positioning you as a trusted strategic advisor to senior business leaders and HR partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead executive search initiatives across platforms, functions, and businesses, personally driving executive-level assignments from strategy through successful placement
  • Manage and optimize external search partnerships across multiple geographies, ensuring consistent quality, alignment with RBC standards, and successful delivery of executive placements
  • Counsel executive leadership as a trusted advisor, leading open search, offering market insights, stakeholder management guidance, and strategic recommendations grounded in RBC's business priorities
  • Direct the executive recruitment function with vision and presence, ensuring efficient, effective recruitment strategies across functions and business units
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for executive and critical talent roles through both consultant-led and platform-based approaches
  • Build strategic relationships with external networks
  • Collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to align executive search strategies with workforce planning and organizational needs
  • Manage recruitment performance and establish KPIs; provide accurate, timely reporting with strategic market analysis to management and hiring stakeholders
  • Serve as a vocal, present force in client meetings, confidently articulating market perspectives, candidate insights, and strategic recommendations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of talent acquisition experience, with 5+ years leading executive search assignments
  • Proven track record executing executive searches across multiple platforms, functions, and business units, both as a recruitment professional and advisor
  • Deep expertise managing external search partners across different geographies, ensuring vendor performance, quality standards, and seamless international coordination
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology/IT industries
  • Deep expertise in stakeholder management, comfort navigating complex internal/external dynamics while championing RBC's interests
  • Strategic advisory experience offering counsel, market insights, and guidance to C-suite and senior leaders
  • Executive presence as a trusted advisor; ability to command respect and drive execution in senior client meetings
  • People leadership expertise building and scaling high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, drive business results, and build relationships with executives and business leaders

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000–$200,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions, and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program, which provides an opportunity to increase your total compensation if the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
