About the role

As the Executive Recruiting Leader, you will build and operationalize a modern, high-performing executive search function. This role is accountable for transforming the current model into a scalable, strategic enterprise asset, ensuring the organization has the leadership strength required for current operations and future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement standardized enterprise processes for all executive-level searches to ensure consistency, transparency, and repeatable excellence in hiring outcomes.
  • Build, lead, and train a high-caliber executive recruiting team—including recruiters and coordination support—aligned to the specialized demands of executive search.
  • Create and manage an enterprise governance model that strengthens visibility and communication with hiring leaders and senior executives throughout each search.
  • Establish and continuously refine performance measures based on healthcare industry benchmarks and best practices from leading internal executive search teams and premier search firms.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing market intelligence, competitive insights, and guidance on talent strategy.
  • Create an enterprise sourcing capability that leverages national networks, professional associations, targeted research, and digital sourcing channels to ensure MultiCare competes effectively for top leadership talent.
  • Partner with HR including Business Partners, Compensation, Talent, and Workforce Strategy to build an integrated approach to leadership talent—ensuring compensation, recruiting, development & succession, and workforce planning operate as a connected ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional recruiting experience, including 3–5+ years managing senior-level or executive search assignments (C-suite, VP, physician leadership, or healthcare administration).
  • Demonstrated experience leading full-cycle executive recruiting processes, including research, sourcing, assessment, interviewing, and executive-level stakeholder management.
  • Prior experience working within the healthcare industry—including hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, ambulatory groups, or payers.
  • Proven track record partnering with senior executives, CHROs, and service line leaders to define leadership profiles and advisory-level recruiting strategies.
  • Experience conducting complex, confidential searches and navigating sensitive leadership transitions within competitive healthcare markets.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced sourcing techniques, executive research, market intelligence gathering, and pipeline development for hard-to-fill leadership roles.
  • Experience negotiating executive compensation.
  • Prior experience managing a portfolio of 6–12 concurrent executive searches or equivalent high-complexity workload.
  • Ability to evaluate leadership competencies, cultural fit, and organizational alignment for placements in mission-driven healthcare environments.

Pay

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for this position: $163,113.60 - $234,707.20 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale aligned with the applicant’s years of experience.
