Director Entertainment & Programming

About the role

The Director of Entertainment & Programming at Spectrum Retirement Communities oversees engaging activities and events designed to meet the diverse needs of residents. This role requires coordination across departments, management of a team, and fostering partnerships with external organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic direction for adult-centric programming addressing physical, social, spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and leisure needs.
• Determines resident programming preferences, talents, and needs.
• Tracks resident participation and adjusts event calendars accordingly.
• Evaluates programs to ensure they meet the needs of all residents.
• Stays updated on active aging and generational trends to enhance community programming.
• Develops signature programming and events to enrich the residents' living experience.
• Influences and encourages residents to engage in programming through positive relationships and personalized interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and implementing activities, events, and organizing groups preferred but not required.
• Must be 21 years old and have a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving.
• A valid state Driver’s License (Class E Chauffer's License is required in some states) and a Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
• Knowledge of aging and disability issues is a bonus.
• Experience supervising/directing the work of others is preferred.
