Director, Engineering - Title Automation - Remote

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Engineering - Title Automation - Remote to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space. This leader will guide the architecture and evolution of an AI-enabled document intelligence platform that supports title insurance processing. The role will shape the technical foundation for both manual and automated workflows, while expanding intelligent production capabilities across varied operational environments. In close partnership with product, data, and operational stakeholders, this leader will help define the standards and priorities that drive modernization, scale, and execution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and evolution of a document intelligence platform for title insurance processing.
• Develop and maintain a canonical data model that supports both manual and automated workflows.
• Drive expansion of AI-driven title production capabilities across diverse geographical and operational scenarios.
• Define architectural standards for document processing, data pipelines, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Foster a high-performing remote engineering culture focused on growth and psychological safety.
• Oversee project roadmaps and prioritization by effectively balancing modernization and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a focus on large-scale production data or AI platforms.
• Deep expertise in distributed data processing and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in AI/ML lifecycle management and operational processes for model governance.
• Strong technical knowledge of cloud services and managing complex data environments.
• Proven ability to shape technical strategies and guide investment decisions in a matrixed setting.

Pay

$197,200 – $263,000 annually
