About the role
The Director of Engineering - VED Products is responsible for overseeing engineering teams and large-scale projects, and influencing company-wide strategies for the Power Electronics Division. Key responsibilities include setting the vision and direction for engineering teams, leading the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions in power electronics VED products, managing engineering projects, providing strategic technical direction, driving product development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Set the vision and direction for engineering teams
- Lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions in power electronics VED products
- Oversee the progress and timeliness of engineering projects
- Provide strategic technical direction and mitigate risks
- Drive the development of new products and systems from concept to delivery
- Collaborate with other departments to align engineering activities with business needs and goals
- Manage engineering budgets and allocate resources effectively
- Drive technological innovation within the organization
- Ensure engineering solutions comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field with 10+ years of experience
- Deep understanding of engineering principles and best practices, with experience in RF, Power Electronics, and development lifecycles
- Proven hands-on leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a matrix organization
- Strong team management skills, with experience in coaching and mentoring
- Ability to develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business objectives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in managing complex engineering projects, including resource allocation and budget management
- Experience successfully managing project and departmental overhead budgets
