Director, Employment Counsel

Key components of the role and areas of responsibility

• Advice and Counsel
• Advise internal clients on various employment law issues
• Monitor legal developments in critical areas of the law
• Update company policies and procedures accordingly
• Advisory on various compensation matters
• Health and welfare plans compliance
• ERISA compliance
• 401(k) compliance
• Work with outside benefits counsel as needed
• Develop and deliver legal learning materials and presentations
• Labor Relations
• Represent the company in contract negotiations
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements
• Review, draft, and execute internal company policies and practices
• Advisory on unionization efforts, campaigns, strikes, and pickets
• Claims and Litigation
• Engagement of outside counsel and case management of employment claims and litigation
• Representation of the company in governmental agency matters
• Representation during management of a matter at strategic phases
