About the Role

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Director, Electrical OFCI Engineering & Technical Delivery to lead the technical strategy, procurement support, integration, and execution of Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) electrical infrastructure across our rapidly expanding hyperscale and colocation data center portfolio. This role requires a highly experienced mission critical electrical engineering leader with extensive hands-on knowledge of all major data center electrical equipment and infrastructure systems, including utility interconnection, medium-voltage distribution, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, EPMS/SCADA integration, grounding systems, and critical power distribution architectures.

The Director will serve as STACK's senior technical authority for electrical OFCI systems and will be responsible for driving technical excellence, design standardization, constructability, speed-to-market execution, and operational resiliency across multiple fast-paced concurrent developments. The ideal candidate thrives in high-growth and accelerated delivery environments, can make rapid technical decisions with confidence, and has proven success managing large-scale hyperscale or colocation projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all technical aspects of OFCI electrical equipment strategy, specification development, procurement support, factory testing, integration, and deployment across multiple concurrent data center projects
  • Serve as STACK's subject matter expert for mission critical electrical infrastructure systems including medium-voltage utility distribution systems, diesel standby generator systems, UPS systems and battery technologies, switchgear and switchboards, transformers and busway systems, static transfer switches (STS), power monitoring and EPMS/SCADA systems, grounding and bonding systems, and concurrently maintainable and fault-tolerant electrical topologies
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, energization, and operational turnover phases
  • Lead technical review, validation, and approval of engineering deliverables produced by EORs, vendors, manufacturers, and consultants to ensure compliance with STACK standards, operational reliability, scalability, and constructability requirements
  • Drive rapid technical decision-making and issue resolution in support of fast-track hyperscale development schedules and aggressive project milestones
  • Manage technical coordination between Development, Construction, Operations, Procurement, Commissioning, and external engineering partners to ensure seamless project execution
  • Lead technical evaluation and selection of OFCI electrical equipment vendors and manufacturers, including technical bid evaluations, submittal reviews, factory witness testing (FWT), equipment performance validation, and long-lead equipment procurement strategy
  • Review and resolve RFIs, field issues, design clarifications, commissioning findings, and technical risks in real time to minimize schedule impacts
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Basis of Design (BOD) standards, electrical design standards, procurement specifications, and technical governance processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on speed-to-market execution, reliability and resiliency, constructability, scalability, operational maintainability, energy efficiency, and cost optimization
  • Provide technical oversight for electrical infrastructure integration and energization activities during construction and commissioning
  • Support operational teams with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, infrastructure upgrades, and reliability improvement initiatives across existing facilities
  • Evaluate emerging electrical technologies and infrastructure solutions for applicability within hyperscale and colocation environments
  • Lead and mentor internal engineering personnel while promoting accountability, technical rigor, and execution excellence
  • Support portfolio-wide capital planning and long-term electrical infrastructure strategy development
  • Travel to project sites, vendor factories, and operational facilities as required to support project execution and technical oversight
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
  • 15+ years of experience in mission critical facilities and large-scale data center electrical infrastructure design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Extensive hands-on technical expertise with all major data center electrical equipment and systems including generators, UPS systems, medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, busway systems, protective relaying, and power monitoring systems
  • Demonstrated experience delivering fast-paced hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects under aggressive schedules
  • Strong understanding of concurrently maintainable and fault-tolerant electrical system architectures for mission critical facilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and rapidly resolve technical and field-related challenges with minimal oversight
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA, and applicable mission critical industry standards and best practices
  • Experience leading OFCI equipment procurement, vendor management, factory witness testing, and technical evaluations
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, external consultants, OEMs, contractors, and commissioning agents
  • Strong understanding of constructability, commissioning, energization sequencing, and operational turnover requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence technical and business decisions
  • Highly organized, execution-oriented, and capable of operating effectively within fast-growth, high-pressure environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat
