For our client, a leader in the Energy & Utilities space, we are seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. This role collaborates across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

  • Lead and prioritize work for the Electrical Design Engineering team and subject matter experts
  • Oversee electrical infrastructure design for major capital projects
  • Drive technical programs crucial for strategic company initiatives
  • Manage external engineering partners to ensure sound electrical design delivery
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new and retrofit designs, focusing on cost-effectiveness
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational downtime
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to develop the skills of engineering staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • 15-20 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Prior design engineering experience in power generating plants, large industrial facilities, or similar industries
  • Deep understanding of medium and high voltage systems including protective relaying and transformers
  • Experience managing technical teams and navigating the project execution lifecycle

Pay

$157,000 – $224,400 annually
