Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct and/or oversee multi-faceted projects that may include environmental due diligence, subsurface investigations, indoor air quality assessments, hazardous building materials, vapor intrusion pathway assessment and mitigation, soil and groundwater remediation.
  • Work directly with clients to understand projects and develop appropriate scopes of work.
  • Prepare and senior review proposals, technical plans & specifications, regulatory submittals, and other technical assessment reports including ensuring accurate data/summary tables and/or figures.
  • Cook up and coordinate work activities for multiple project functions to ensure satisfactory delivery.
  • Senior review Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for project sites.
  • Manage projects to meet milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, regulatory requirements, or other performance indicators.
  • Actively participate in Account Management and Business Development program to engage with clients and procure work.
  • Manage project staff members and subcontractors.
  • Oversee and provide technical review of projects in the region.
  • Senior review cost proposals and technical assessment reports including ensuring accurate data/summary tables and/or figures.
  • Supports MD in meeting or exceeding the defined annual budget for the entire practice area/practice division (including revenue generation, overall utilization of assigned resources, and execution of profitable engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature).
  • Effectively delegate assignments to assigned direct reports, instruct and monitor progress, and ensure work product is consistently high quality.
  • Supports MD in monitoring relevant data such as utilization, Accounts Receivable, discretionary spending, etc.
  • Meet or exceed defined individual average utilization goals (and incorporating consideration of individual revenue targets) as set forth by company leadership.
  • Directly manage, mentor and develop a team of direct reports focused on attracting, placing, and growing the assigned practice team members, with emphasis on creating a team and culture that is empowered to execute.
  • Lead team of assigned staff members to establish and drive towards defined objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Identify potential new market segments and alert MD for evaluations and consideration.
  • Travel as necessary to support client, employee, and leadership needs.
  • Establish quality control of service delivery, maintaining an excellent reputation of quality and lead and manage in a manner that assists with rapid resolution of any client, team member or operational challenges.
  • Operations Lead and manage in support of strategic plans that align with the organization’s vision and defined business objectives.
  • Support construction of strong cross-functional teams to achieve success in shared goals, understanding that multiple perspectives and talents build stronger teams and results.
  • Manage assigned projects consistent with contracts and proactively alert assigned MD to any potential challenges or issues.
  • Ensure compliance of operations with all local, state and Federal (and International, if applicable) regulations, as well as compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure consistent high quality on deliverables for the practice.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience, and at least 5 years in management capacity.
  • Active Licensed Site Professional (LSP) license with strong knowledge of Massachusetts Contingency Plan and associated guidance and policies.
  • Experience in providing reliable work product review for technical deliverables.
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Able to provide oversight and direction to assigned staff.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Developing increased emotional intelligence to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and perform consistently and positively under high stress conditions.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) required.
