About the role

The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the operational clinical activities, patient care delivery systems and the daily operations of the modalities and imaging services locations.
  • Manages compliance standards and requirements as well as policies and procedures.
  • Participates in strategic planning, the development of growth strategies, achievement of targets and outcome improvement.
  • Oversees the development of operational budgets, monitors key financial indicators and performance metrics.
  • Manages human resources to include developing staffing plans, productivity and performance related standards.
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field
  • Preferred Education: Master's Degree Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Certification Required:
    • Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • and certified in ONE of the following:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Sonography (ARRT--S); Breast Sonography (ARRT-- BS); Vascular Sonography (ARRT--VS); Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI --RVS);
    • or
    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Preferred Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS (AB, OB/GYN, or RVT)
  • Sonography (S) or Vascular (VS) through ARRT
  • Experience: 10 years imaging clinical operations experience to include five years in a management role
  • Preferred Experience: 8 years imaging clinical operations experience to include five years in a management role, with preferred Master's degree
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
