Diagnostic Imaging Director

About the role

This position manages all personnel, supplies, and equipment for the Medical Imaging service line and promotes teamwork with physicians, personnel, and other departments. Recommends actions to the hospital administration regarding equipment modification, essential construction, staffing, physician relations, and other needs for the success of the service line. Coordinates department purchasing, contractual services, and utilization. Utilizes knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures as outlined for the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Manages personnel, supplies, and equipment for the Medical Imaging service line.
• Recommends actions to the hospital administration regarding equipment modification, essential construction, staffing, physician relations, and other needs for the success of the service line.
• Captures department purchasing, contractual services, and utilization.
• Utilizes knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures as outlined for the hospital.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the clinical process.
• Demonstrates the ability to plan and provide for the delivery of clinical services.
• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of hospital regulatory compliance, i.e. TJC standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, and other regulatory agencies applicable to service area.
• Communicates verbally and electronically to a wide array of people/disciplines.
• Formulates long term strategy and coordinates plan.
• Aware of industry standard developments and plans for modification as needed.

Requirements

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered technologist with current certification by ARRT and CE compliance. Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.
• Education: Master’s degree preferred, preferably in healthcare related field or with a healthcare focus. Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years progressive management in a clinical setting. Strong financial analysis, human resource experience and regulatory compliance experience preferred.
