Director, Data Security & Governance

Job Summary

The Director of Data Security & Governance at Arrivia is responsible for protecting the organization's data through classification, data loss prevention, and encryption. This role leads the Data Security team and owns classification, DLP across every egress channel, Data Security Posture Management across cloud, SaaS, and endpoints, and the cryptography standards, key management, and tokenization underneath it all. Additionally, the role oversees the data-governance side of AI, ensuring sensitive data does not enter models.

About the Role

This role reports to the CIO and is remote within the United States. It requires five or more years of experience in data security and governance, including leading a team, with hands-on experience in DLP tools like Microsoft Purview, Symantec, or Forcepoint, and DSPM across cloud, SaaS, and endpoints. Key responsibilities include understanding encryption at rest and in transit, key management, and key-lifecycle work, as well as having a strong grasp of ISO 27001, HIPAA, PII, PCI, and GDPR compliance.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in data security and governance
• Experience leading a team
• Hands-on experience with DLP tools like Microsoft Purview, Symantec, or Forcepoint
• Experience with DSPM across cloud, SaaS, and endpoints
• Strong understanding of encryption at rest and in transit
• Experience with key management and key-lifecycle work
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, HIPAA, PII, PCI, and GDPR
• A CISSP certification is required

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• CISSP certification
