Job Summary
The Director, Data, Analytics and Insights role at GreatAmerica Financial Services is responsible for leading data and analytics strategy for enterprise analytics and customer insights that drive the future performance of our business.

Responsibilities
- Defines and executes an enterprise data & analytics strategy aligned to business priorities
- Prioritizes high-value data and analytics initiatives across the enterprise
- Develops a deep understanding of our customers and aligns data and analytics efforts with real-world needs
- Builds strong partnerships across Product, Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and other key functions
- Establishes success metrics and drives measurable outcomes from analytics investments
- Owns, develops, and maintains executive dashboards and KPIs
- Identifies trends, patterns, and emerging risks to inform proactive decision-making
- Delivers retention and growth analytics to improve customer loyalty and expand relationships
- Champions scalable self-service analytics capabilities and integrates predictive capabilities into business processes
- Promotes data governance practices, ensuring consistent definitions, metrics governance, and trusted data sources across the enterprise
- Supports the development of a high-performing analytics organization, including role clarity, career paths, and capability models
- Manages hiring, performance management, and succession planning for the function
- Develops enterprise data literacy through structured enablement and training programs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Math, Information Systems, Statistics, or relevant field
- 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, or business intelligence roles
- 5+ years of experience leading teams or enterprise-level initiatives
- Experience defining and executing data & analytics strategies at scale
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders and driving cross-functional outcomes
- Experience working in an agile or product-based delivery model preferred
- Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Familiarity with data querying and data models (SQL or equivalent)
- Strong business acumen with ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Power BI etc.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and ability to acquire data sets via moderately complex queries
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with reporting capabilities within Salesforce a plus
- Strong business acumen with the desire to understand the core drivers of business behaviors
- Accountability for delivering measurable business value from analytics investments
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment while driving organizational change

- Experience with modern cloud-based data and analytics ecosystems and partnering with technology teams on scalable data platform capabilities preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and ability to acquire data sets via moderately complex queries
- Experience with data architecture concepts, pipelines, and analytics ecosystems
- Experience with data governance practices, including stewardship, data quality, metadata, lineage, access controls, and consistent use of trusted data assets
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing
- Experience with data storytelling and communication
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Power BI etc.
- Experience with data security and privacy
- Experience with data ethics and compliance
