We need to remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. So we need to strip out the EEO paragraph (starting "At Marriott International, we are dedicated...") and the benefits description (the paragraph about benefits) maybe we need to keep benefits if they are specific. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." Also: "Include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. 'commensurate with experience', 'not specified', 'N/A', 'varies', 'TBD') and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them."
We have Pay Range: $127,000-$187,000 Annually, Bonus Eligible: Y, Stock Package: Y. So we have Pay info. Should we include Pay section? Yes, because posting states Pay Range. Also Bonus Eligible and Stock Package could be part of Pay or Benefits? Probably Pay section includes salary range, bonus, stock. We'll include Pay.
Schedule: "ScheduleFull Time". Also "Located Remotely?N". So schedule is Full Time. Not remote. So we can include Schedule section with "Full Time". Also maybe location? Not required heading but could be included in About the role? The instruction says use headings for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Location could be placed in About the role paragraph.
We need to decide what goes where.
We have Role Summary paragraph: that could be About the role.
We have Required Education and Experience: that's Requirements (or Qualifications). Usually Requirements = mandatory; Qualifications = preferred? But we have both required and preferred. We could split: Requirements (required) and Qualifications (preferred). Or we could combine into Requirements. The instruction: we have headings for Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We need to allocate content appropriately.
We have "Required Education and Experience" list: that's mandatory requirements.
We have "Preferred Experience..." list: that's preferred qualifications.
We have "Core Work Activities": that's Responsibilities.
We have skills maybe implied: expertise in qualitative/quantitative methods, research platforms, etc. Could go under Skills.
We have Benefits: The posting includes benefits description after EEO paragraph. However that is boilerplate but includes specific benefits: 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance plan, childcare discounts, medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, dependent care FSA, life insurance, disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, educational assistance, Washington sick leave, PTO, holidays. This is substantive. However the instruction says remove boilerplate like EEO/legal etc. The benefits paragraph may be considered boilerplate but it's specific benefits. It might be okay to keep. However we need to decide if we include Benefits section. The posting does state benefits, albeit generic. It's not filler like "not specified". It lists actual benefits. So we can include Benefits section.
But we need to be careful not to include the EEO paragraph. We'll strip that.
Also we need to strip the "Click here to learn more." and the Marriott HQ hybrid work environment description maybe not needed? That is more about work arrangement; could be part of Schedule or About the role? Might be considered boilerplate but it's about hybrid work. Might be considered relevant to schedule/location. However the instruction says remove duplicated lines, cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The hybrid work environment description is not exactly boilerplate but could be considered generic company info. Might be okay to keep in About the role or Schedule? But we can keep minimal.
We need to preserve all substantive information. So we should keep the hybrid work environment note? It's about work arrangement; could be relevant to Schedule (Hybrid). But the posting already says ScheduleFull Time and Located Remotely?N. The hybrid note says HQ based roles are generally hybrid and require regular in-office presence. Since the location is Bethesda MD (likely HQ). So we could mention that it's hybrid requiring in-office presence. That's substantive.
Thus we could include in Schedule section: "Full Time (Hybrid, requires regular in-office presence at Bethesda, MD)". Or we could keep separate About the role.
Let's structure:
About the role
Role Summary: The Director, Customer & Communities Insights leads Marriott International’s agile customer research capability, helping business partners quickly understand customer and member perspectives and make informed decisions. This role owns Marriott’s insight community, serves as a strategic advisor on effective approaches for gathering actionable customer feedback, partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to translate business questions into research objectives, design and execute rapid research initiatives, and delivers insights that influence key business decisions, balancing research rigor with speed to integrate customer perspectives into decision making at the pace of business. The position is based at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814, full-time, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring regular in-office presence.
But we need to avoid repeating the job title as heading; we already have About the role heading.
We need to ensure we don't duplicate content.
Now Responsibilities: from Core Work Activities list.
We'll make
- each activity.
Requirements: from Required Education and Experience list.
Qualifications: from Preferred Experience list.
Skills: maybe we can extract skills like expertise in qualitative and quantitative customer research methods, experience with research platforms (Qualtrics, Alchemer, Fuel Cycle, Decipher, AI moderation platforms), knowledge of research governance, privacy, compliance, responsible data use, ability to synthesize large sets of complex data into concise executive-ready recommendations, experience managing online insight communities, managing vendors, research platforms, contracts, etc. But some of these overlap with requirements/qualifications. To avoid duplication, we could keep Skills separate focusing on technical/methodological skills: qualitative & quantitative research methods, research platforms (Qualtrics, Alchemer, Fuel Cycle, Decipher, AI moderation), research governance/privacy/compliance, data synthesis, stakeholder management, vendor management, etc. But we need to ensure we don't repeat same bullet points as in Requirements/Qualifications. Might be okay to have some overlap but better to avoid.
We could decide not to include Skills section if content overlaps heavily; but we have a heading for Skills. The instruction: prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we combine Skills into Requirements/Qualifications. But we have to use headings only when there is real specific content. If we think Skills is not distinct, we could omit it. However we have to decide.
We have required and preferred lists; we could treat Required as Requirements,
