About the role

The Director, Credit Risk Oversight will lead the oversight of credit risk across the consumer lending portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk appetite and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks, monitoring key risk indicators, and providing strategic guidance on risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk management policies and procedures for the consumer lending portfolio
  • Monitor and analyze key risk metrics and trends, and report findings to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate credit risks, including underwriting, loan servicing, and collections
  • Provide strategic guidance on risk management initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Lead the development and execution of risk assessment and stress testing exercises
  • Ensure effective communication of risk-related issues to stakeholders, including executive management and board members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in credit risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and mitigating credit risks in a complex financial environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements
  • Experience with risk management software and tools is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
