About the role

A&M is a global consulting firm known for its entrepreneurial and action-oriented professionals. The Corporate M&A Tax team consists of experienced tax professionals who provide practical tax advice to corporate buyers and sellers throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
  • Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations.
  • Perform due diligence including review of tax returns, financials, and other tax documentation to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Plan and execute post-merger integration strategies: Develop and deliver complex tax models, tax benefit analysis, and stock basis calculations.
  • Review and comment on tax aspects of purchase agreements.
  • Cook up and coordinate with state and local and international tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

  • CPA, JD (with bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm.
  • Strong understanding of the consolidated return regulations, tax-free reorganization provisions and cross-border tax planning considerations.
  • Strong writing, analytical, research, excel, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills.
  • Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

Benefits

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in A&M’s fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off, including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part-time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $165,000 - $200,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
