Director, Corporate Counsel

About the role

This role will serve as a key legal partner supporting clinical development, transactional work, and day-to-day business operations across a growing life sciences organization. You will advise cross-functionally on risk, compliance, intellectual property considerations, and contract strategy while helping strengthen legal processes and templates. The position also offers exposure to leadership decisions that support the drug development lifecycle and broader organizational execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of agreements
• Advise on clinical trial documents and provide strategic legal counsel to clinical teams
• Counsel stakeholders on risk allocation, compliance, and intellectual property ownership
• Review external-facing materials for legal issues and mitigation strategies
• Develop and improve legal department policies and templates
• Participate in optimizing the contracts lifecycle management system
• Manage relationships with outside counsel based on cost and efficiency

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required
• 8+ years of attorney experience, including 5+ years of in-house experience in life sciences
• Experience in large law firms supporting life sciences companies preferred
• Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance standards
• Proven track record negotiating diverse contracts under tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills in transactional contexts
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Location: Remote – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $242,000 – $282,000 annually
