Director, Content Marketing
This role leads the content engine behind Thomson Reuters' generative AI strategy for the legal industry. You'll set the editorial agenda for the Legal Professionals business, shape market understanding of the future of legal work, and build content programs driving demand for CoCounsel, Westlaw, Practical Law, HighQ, and Noetica.
About the role
You will own the editorial strategy, content production, and operating model for Thomson Reuters' Legal Professionals portfolio. This includes:
- Developing themes, narratives, and point of view grounded in customer insights, commercial priorities, and competitive analysis.
- Creating content that drives pipeline through organic search, SEO, demand generation, sales enablement, and integrated campaigns.
- Establishing the content operating model, including editorial calendar, production workflows, multi-channel distribution, and measurement frameworks tied to business outcomes.
- Leading a high-performing team of content leaders, writers, and producers, and managing relationships with internal Studio, agency, and contributor networks.
Key outcomes for year one include:
- A recognized editorial point of view measured by share of voice.
- Measurable lift in organic traffic and content-influenced pipeline.
- A scalable content team and operating model with clear AI-assisted production standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years in content strategy and editorial leadership at a B2B SaaS, professional services, or media company, with 3+ years leading and scaling a team.
- Proven track record of building original content programs that influenced the market and delivered business results.
- Strong editorial judgment with the ability to critique and improve content, including rewriting when necessary.
- Fluency with AI content tools and a clear perspective on balancing automation with voice, accuracy, and authority.
- Experience working with senior executives, including extracting their insights, ghostwriting, and providing constructive feedback.
- Proficiency in content performance data and marketing analytics to drive decisions without compromising craft.
- Familiarity with modern content stack: CMS, content operations platforms (e.g., Workfront, Contently, Writer), SEO, analytics tools, and AI-assisted production.
- Experience in legal, regulated, or professional services markets is a plus. If not, demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to complex verticals.

Pay
Eligible office locations for this role include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine (CA), McLean (VA), and Washington, DC. The base compensation range for these locations is $158,100–$293,500 USD. For other eligible U.S. locations, the range is $137,200–$254,800 USD. Base pay is determined by individual knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on enterprise and individual performance.
