Director, Competitive Intelligence
About the role
As a Director, Competitive Intelligence, you will build financial models, deliver research, market intelligence, and competitor intelligence that supports business strategy and initiatives across multiple business segments at Fiserv. You will partner with strategy, finance, business development, and leadership teams to develop actionable insights, evaluate market opportunities, and inform decision-making. Your work will help strengthen strategic planning, transaction support, and investment analysis across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Deliver research, market intelligence, and competitor intelligence to support business strategy development and key initiatives across Fiserv business segments.
- Build and maintain financial models on the universe of public company competitors and adjacencies, while developing an independent view on expected future performance and trends.
- Develop recurring intelligence deliverables, including competitor profiles, market updates, industry analyses, and comparable public company analyses.
- Support live transactions and business development activities by contributing research, business case development, discounted cash flow and accretion or dilution modeling, executive presentation materials, and due diligence preparation.
- Partner with business unit finance, product, strategy, and business development teams to evaluate strategic targets, competitive positioning, and market trends.
- Utilize external industry analysts and research firms to source relevant market insights and incorporate findings into strategic recommendations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in equity research, competitive intelligence, or corporate strategy.
- Experience building public company financial models, conducting market analysis, competitor research, and strategic assessments using internal data, external research, and industry sources.
- Experience in financial analysis using discounted cash flow modeling, accretion or dilution modeling, business case development, and comparable company analysis.
- Experience developing executive presentations, board of director materials, and strategic recommendations for internal leadership.
- Experience working with external research firms, industry analysts, and market intelligence sources to produce actionable business insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
- Master of Business Administration in Finance or related field preferred.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or financial technology markets preferred.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, or venture investment activities preferred.

- Proficiency in financial modeling software.
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.

Pay
$146,000.00 - $244,800.00 These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
Schedule
This role is on-site Monday through Friday.
