The Role
The Director Compensation role is pivotal in shaping and executing compensation strategies for the assigned Business Group(s) at Amcor. This position requires a deep understanding of global compensation frameworks and the ability to adapt these to meet the unique needs of each Business Group.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy Total Rewards strategy, goals, and priorities for the assigned Business Group(s)
- Ensure global Total Rewards programs and processes are consistently implemented and aligned with global direction
- Guide own/local HR teams in process planning and implementation, including merit salary increases, management incentive plan, sales incentive plan, equity management incentive plan, and long-term incentive plan
- Provide expertise on Total Rewards programs to wide range of internal stakeholders, including BG/HR LTs
- Lead change management and program alignment/harmonization (where necessary)
- Ensure accurate benchmarking and provide input and recommendations to global Total Rewards for program improvements
- Ensure local Total Rewards programs are responsive to business needs and execute them accurately
- Monitor trends, including those driven by local labor relations aspects with potential impact on Total Rewards agenda (e.g., transparency, local pay legislations)
- Manage complexity and navigate through organizational complexity and conflicting priorities
- Act as escalation point and review/approve projects and other activities (as needed)
- Lead and develop others (build capabilities)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR, Business, or related field
- 12-15+ years of progressive Total Rewards/compensation experience in complex matrix organizations, including exposure to grading, data benchmarking, process design and management, and program deployment on regional or global level
- Managerial experience, with strong experience in building, leading, and managing a team
- Advanced analytical capabilities and Excel modeling proficiency; experienced in implementing/using/designing HRIS systems for compensation modules
- Strong organizational, project/change management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate independently; providing guidance to peers or project teams and communicating effectively with senior leaders

- Experience in managing and aligning compensation programs with business objectives
